Is there a local celebrity, well-known personality, or local expert in your community that believes in your cause and can speak to it? If so, plan a guest speaker event.

Social Media

Invite the community by advertising on social media, print media, email, and direct mail. Encourage your own supporters to share the event with their friends and family. Charge a flat entry fee or suggested donation for attendees.

We’ve seen hundreds of organizations plan 5ks and marathons using our platform. One of our favorite options is taking the concept of a 5K or marathon and mixing it up so that more people can participate. That’s what I’m a HIPpy did with their Leap into Action fundraiser. They invited participants to move their bodies in any way: walk, run, bike, roll, or anything else!

Campaign-Specific Emails

That being said, you don’t want to just put out a Tweet and Facebook post and call it a day. As we mentioned at the beginning of this guide, throwing a post out into the fray doesn’t automatically elicit thousands of donations, no matter how much brand recognition and love you have already.

ICRC

Established in 1863, the ICRC operates worldwide, helping people affected by conflict and armed violence and promoting the laws that protect victims of war. An independent and neutral organization, its mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We are based in Geneva, Switzerland, and employ over 20,000 people in more than 100 countries. The ICRC is funded mainly by voluntary donations from governments and from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Venue

Atlantis The Palm

Atlantis The Palm

Despite its flimsy construction, this old banqueting house was much in demand from Elizabeth’s successor as a venue for masques.  James I and his wife Anne of Denmark loved this form of extravagant performance. Eventually, James commissioned a more substantial hall from architect Robert Stickells. However, the King was disappointed with the building. Although very ornate, a forest of columns supporting a gallery blocked much of the audiences’ view.
